PCB Warns Mohammad Amir Over Promoting Betting Companies

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has warned fast bowler Mohammad Amir about his association with surrogate betting companies, following his recent involvement in promoting such entities on social media platforms, as reported.

Amir, who recently abandoned his retirement from international cricket, faced scrutiny after appearing in a social media post for a betting company, prompting the PCB to intervene and remind him of the ban on signing contracts with such organizations.

Despite Amir's clarification that the contract was signed before his retirement reversal, he has assured the board that his images will not be used for promotional activities in the future.

The left-arm pacer, known for his pivotal role in Pakistan's victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, announced his return to international cricket ahead of the upcoming series against New Zealand, where he is set to join the national squad for the T20I fixtures scheduled in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
