PAKISTAN READY TO FIGHT AGAINST JORDAN IN FIFA WORLD CUP QUALIFIER

Diaspora players are expected to join the training camp soon, bolstering the squad's strength.

Pakistan's Head Coach of the men's national football team, Stephen Constantine, expressed determination for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Jordan. The match is scheduled for March 21 at Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad.

Speaking to the media at Model Town Ground C Block on Saturday, Coach Constantine outlined the team's mindset and strategic focus ahead of the challenging encounter with Jordan, a formidable footballing nation in Asia.

Acknowledging the tough task ahead, Constantine emphasized the limited preparation time for such a significant fixture against one of Asia's top teams. He admitted that Pakistan is unlikely to participate in the FIFA World Cup 2026 and maybe even the subsequent edition, with the focus shifting towards the Asian Cup Qualifiers and the SAFF Championship.

Constantine revealed that diaspora players are expected to join the training camp soon, bolstering the squad's strength. He stressed the necessity of a professional football league in Pakistan, citing its importance in player development.

The coach highlighted the competitive nature of their qualifying group, which includes strong teams like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Tajikistan. Despite the challenging circumstances, Constantine sees this as an opportunity for the Pakistani squad to gain valuable experience and exposure for future tournaments.
