SFP to hold Pakistan’s first softball league 2021 in November

SFP we will organise Pakistan’s first softball league in November this year in which Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad and host city Karachi will participate.

On the occasion of World Softball Day, the Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP) organized a ceremony on a cruise to celebrate it.

Chairperson Tehmina stated that private sector sponsors should also come forward along with the government to foster the game and turn players financially stable.


SFP vice-president Prof Dr Farhan Essa Abdullah, chairperson Tehmina Asif along with players and other officials also cut a softball cake.

The event had the presence of SFP secretary general Asif Azeem, president Sindh Softball Syed Waseem Hashmi, secretary Zeeshan Merchant, finance secretary Murad Hussain, and KSA secretary Faraz Ejaz.

“In collaboration with SFP we will organise Pakistan’s first softball league in November this year in which Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad and host city Karachi will participate." Prof Dr Farhan Essa said.

“Foreign players will also be invited to Pakistan to take part in the league. Our aim is to give international games exposure to our players and send a message to the world that Pakistan is a safe country to host international evets. We will try to bring international coaches and umpires, and organise refresher courses for our coaches and umpires so they will know the latest rules and techniques of softball,” said Dr Farhan.
