Raja Akmal, Shehwar Nasir wins Pakistan Day Archery Championship 2021

Raja Akmal of Quaid-e-Azam Academy won the Pakistan Day Archery men’s event while Shahwar Nasir of Karachi University won the women's event.

Al Nadi Al-Burhani Sports and Recreational Center under the supervision of Sindh Archery Association organized the Pakistan Day Archery Championship 2021 to celebrate "Pakistan Day" at Nadi Al-Burhani Academy on 20th March.

More than 200 junior and senior archers of Shar-e-Quaid participated in the event.

Raja Akmal of Quaid-e-Azam Academy won the Pakistan Day Archery men’s event while Shahwar Nasir of Karachi University won the women's event.

Pakistan Women's Cricket Team Captain Javeria Khan graced the ceremony as chief guest.

The event, which lasted from noon to night, featured archery competitions of 10, 18 and 30 meters.

 For the first time in the event, the performance of archers was tested through a computerized scoring system.

According to the results, Raja Akmal of Quaid-e-Azam Academy bagged the first position in the men's category, while Rashid of Karachi University bagged the second position and Ehsan Zaman of National Archery Training Center bagged the third position.

Among women, Shehwar Nasir of Karachi University sealed the top spot, Tobia Babar of United Archery Club came second and Kanwal Hassan of Quaid-e-Azam Archery Academy came third.

Bilal Babar claimed the first spot in 18m juniors boys while Amin Ahmed got second and Anwarul Hassan became third.

In girls, Mahim Shabbir secured first spot while Maryam Tauseef sealed second and Zarnain Mansoor finished at third.

Ali Akbar Jamali, Burhanuddin Hazifa Khambat Valadum and Akbar Ali were the top three position holders in 10m sub-junior boys while Zoya Zaman, Mariha Mustali and Amtaullah Zuhair were top three in the girls.

Rashid Masood of Karachi University was declared the best archer with 326 points while Shehwar Nasir of Karachi University bagged the award in the women's category.

The event had the presence of Secretary Sindh Archery Association Mansoor Shehzad, Javed Sattari, Ali Asghar, Mustafa Bhai, Asian Certified Coach Hassan Abdullah, Laiq Butt, Abid Ijaz, Munir Ahmed and Babar Ali.
