Korangi Sports Festival 2020 continues on colorful note in Karachi

The sports contests in various disciplines at the ongoing Korangi Sports Festival are in full swing at the Rashid Latif Academy No.5 ground in Karachi.

Talented players from the Korangi district are taking part as per the vision of Sindh Govt and CM Murad Ali Shah in the competitions of cricket, football and shootingball.

Two cricket matches were decided at Landhi Gymkhana ground. In the first match, Shah Faisal White beat Landhi Blues by nine wickets. Batting first Landhi Blues were bowled out for 94 in the 18th over. Daniyal (21) and sameer Zaman (18) batted well. Osama and sameer Sheikh took two wickets each.

In reply, Shah Faisal Whites reached the winning target in only the tenth over for the loss of just one wicket. Omair Rehman (44) and Wahid Ali (47) batted superbly to take their side to comfortable win.

In the other match Malir Blues beat Shah Faisal Greens by just eight runs in a thrilling clash. Malir Blues batted first to score 140 in the allotted 20 overs with Sufyan Saleem (32), Huzaifa Muneer (22) and Ahmed Hasaan (22) batting well.

In reply Shah Faisal Greens managed to score 132 for 5 in their 20 overs with Hamza Qadir (31) and Hanif Azad (29) being the leading scorers.

In the shootingball event at Ghazi Sports, Zahid Niazi Club of Korangi beat Ittehad Sports Landhi 16-12, 16-14. Farhan Ahmed, Haziq Khan, Jawwad Qureshi and Ramis displayed fine game.

In football contest at the lush Colony Sports ground, Khokhrapar National FC beat Burma Mohammadan of Landhi 2-0 to reach semifinals. Mohammad Anees and Jabbar scored a goal each.
