National powerlifting from tomorrow

The National Men and Women Powerlifting Championships will be held at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall from April 16 to 18.

The event is being organised jointly by the Pakistan Weightlifting Federation and Sports Board Punjab.

Teams from Punjab, Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, Wapda, Railways and Police will participate in the championships.

Men’s teams will compete in the weight categories of 59kg, 66, 74, 83, 93, 105, 120 and 120-plus while women will vie for titles in 47kg, 52, 57, 63, 69,75, 84 and 84-plus categories.

The men’s competitions will be staged on April 16 and 17 while the women’s contests will be held on April 18.
