‘Talented players will be sent abroad for training’

Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP) secretary Asif Azeem on Tuesday said that talented players of the country will be sent abroad to further polish their skills later this year.

Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP) secretary Asif Azeem on Tuesday said that talented players of the country will be sent abroad to further polish their skills later this year.

“Talented players who will perform well in the local tournaments will be sent abroad to help them polish their talent,” Asif said during a kit and equipment distribution ceremony for Sindh team and officials who will be participating in the upcoming National Women Softball Championship, which will be held in Quetta.

He added that along with the government departments, private sector has also come forward to support the game of softball which is a good omen for the promotion of the sport in the country.

Asif said that SFP has been making efforts to invite foreign coaches and umpires and hold refresher courses for outstanding players and officials. “It will help our players and officials to learn new techniques and rules of contemporary softball,” he added.
