Young Pakistani boxer, Usman Wazeer's 3rd professional bout called-off

Usman 'The Asian Boy' Wazeer was all geared up for his third international bout that was to take place on 22nd November in Dubai but the fight has now been cancelled.

Young boxing sensation of Pakistan, Usman Wazeer was to have his third international fight at the Caesars Palace in Dubai on November 22, 2019 but it has been called-off as the Pakistani boxer claims that he was kept in the dark regarding his opponent.

'The Asian Boy' was in UAE when he got to know of his Mexican counterpart for the upcoming fight while he was told before that his opponent was yet to be decided, but was expected to be either from Thailand or England.

He stated in a video message on his Facebook profile that,
“It is regrettable that my opponent’s name was kept secret from me. It is only through social media that I came to know that I will be fighting against a much higher-ranked Mexican pugilist. I have heard people saying that I got afraid of my much-experienced opponent and back stepped from the fight but it is not about that,”

The 19 year old Usman, who is a product of Amir Khan Boxing Academy Islamabad, said that the British-Pakistani boxer, Amir Khan scheduled his fight with a much experienced Mexcian boxer named:  Eduardo de la Torre, who has been appearing in boxing arena since 2015 and owns a record of 5 wins and 3 losses while Usman is in the initial stage of his career, where he had been on the international platform only twice and have won both of his professional bouts.

According to what Usman Wazeer stated, his Mexican opponent was already informed of him on 28th October while he was not made aware. Usman further said,

“It will be a one sided fight. I play for the country so I would never let my flag down. Because of money I couldn't agree to fight and then lose it that's why I refused for the bout. I can't take any risks.”

While Usman's mentor, Amir 'The King' Khan is of the view that it surprises him that after arriving in UAE as per schedule, instead of training hard and focusing on his fight, Usman simply backed off.
