YONEX SUNRISE Pakistan International Series Badminton Tournament begins today

Pakistan International Series Badminton Tournament gets underway today at Rodham Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. The opening match of the tournament is set to be played between the players from Pakistan and Afghanistan. 

Shuttlers from 12 countries are competing in the YONEX SUNRISE Pakistan International Series 2019 this year to receive qualification points for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The international participants are from: Thailand, Czech Republic, USA, Malaysia, Mauritius, Maldives, Nepal, Iran, Iraq, Canada, and Afghanistan. The list also includes the hosts Pakistan with a  total of 30 local players in action.

The event includes five categories, which are men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. The event carries a prize money of $10,000 which will be equally divided among the top position holders.
