Six more teams advance in Neymar 5 Junior Tournament

Six more teams booked their berths in the knockout stage of the Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five Islamabad qualifiers, organisers said on Sunday.

The third and final leg of the city qualifiers is being staged at the Total Football Club in the capital city.

The six teams that joined Jabha FC, Raiders FC, Highlanders Academy, Nights Watch , Assassins FC, Mubarik Troopers, H.I.T FC, Invincibles A ,Silver FC and Comebackers in the knockouts include GC United from Group ‘G’, Jinnah FC from Group ‘H’, Troll FC from Group ‘I’, Magicians FC from Group ‘J’, Kamikaze Bandits from Group ‘K’ and Grimjows from Group ‘L’.

The 16 teams that have progressed to knockouts are going to first engage in a Round of 16, the winners will play quarter-finals followed by semis and the final.

The winners from Islamabad will join Karachi’s Steel Town FC and Lahore’s Fantastic Five in the three-way national finals, the winners of the national finals will represent Pakistan in this year’s Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five world finals to be staged in the Brazilian city of Santos, the hometown of Neymar Jr.

The national finals are also going to be staged in Islamabad on Friday.
