Wrestler Inam Butt named ambassador of Pakistan Olympic Association

The Pakistan Olympic Association has named prominent wrestler, Inam Butt, as its ambassador and awarded him a cash prize of Rs 500,000 for his gold medal triumph in the recently held ANOC World Beach Games 2019, yesterday.

The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) is determine to support the Gujranwala born wrestler, Muhammad Inam in achieving his target of qualifying for the forthcoming Tokyo Olympics 2020 whose qualifiers will be held in February, next year.

POA has honored the wrestler by naming him its official Ambassador and awarded him a cash prize of Rs 500,000 for his gold medal triumph in the recently concluded ANOC World Beach Games 2019. Pakistan-Japan Business Council, Rana Abid Ali was the one to handover the cheque to the 33-year-old wrestler.

POA President, Lt. Gen (retd.), Arif Hassan said the Association is focusing on the task to engage potential sponsors to train the talented national athletes who are carrying the national flag high by earning medals at world level.

Arif said Inam’s achievement is a big one as beating an Olympics bronze medalist, Geogia’s Marsagishvili, was not an easy task. He added that the POA will give its best to assist Inam to make it to next year’s Olympics.
