Pakistani wrestler, Inam Butt catches gold in World Beach Games 2019

Two-time world beach wrestling champion, Mohammad Inam Butt of Pakistan collected another medal to his tally when he won the gold medal in the 2019 World Beach Games in Doha, Qatar.

Proficient wrestler, Muhammad Inam Butt representing Pakistan in the World Beach Games 2019 started on a high pace as he convincingly defeated his counterpart from Portugal named: Andrade Da Silver Adao on 3-0 in the first round of the 90 KG contest. 
 
Displaying his best skills, he then downed Marsagishvili Dato of Georgia in his second fight and once again won in his third bout struggling against Turkey's Ozkan Murat by 1-0. Inam maintain his performance and dominated both the quarter final and semi final fights as he aggressively outscored his opponent from Azerbaijan: Kanan Aliyev by 3-1 to then easily over come Sapin's Garcia Perez Pedro Jacinto by 3-0, respectively. 
 
Just when it seemed too easy for the two-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist, Butt to easily come out victorious in the final bout, he went down 2-0 against Georgian Dato Marsagishvili in the opening time but it all changed in last 15 seconds of the bout when Inam overpowered his opponent and took him down to claim five significant points to be declared the final winner of the fight with the score of 5-2.
 
 
Inam as always, raised Pakistani flag and ran around the arena as he not only won another gold for the country but also topped in his group by winning all the fights leading to the final. 
 

 
 
 
To this another collection of a gold into his huge medals tally, the Gujranwala born wrestler said,
"It was tough group for me, but I had prepared well for the championship. In the final, I was mentally prepared as I had defeated Marsagishvilli in group matches. But, he was very aggressive in the gold medal bout. After he got an initial point, a point was awarded to him that was supposed to be for me, but I didn’t lose hope. It is a proud feeling and it's only because of your prayers.”
The young wrestler added that he wants to dedicate his medal to people of Kashmir who are suffering for several months.
 
 
 
Inam is now set to display his skills in the upcoming National Games of the country and then will go to Nepal to feature in the South Asian Games 2019.
