Shahid Afridi makes blistering half-century in Global T20 League Canada Season II

Shahid Afridi, being part of Brampton Wolves team splendidly scored match-winning 81 runs in the on-going Global T20 League Canada Season II which is being held in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

 
Former Pakistan skipper, Shahid Afridi rolled back the years as he smashed match-winning 81 runs for Brampton Wolves in their Global T20 Cricket League Canada 2019 fixture against Edmonton Royals. 

The all-rounder made 81 runs off 40 deliveries with the help of 10 boundaries and five sixes, with his knock helping his side win the match by 27 runs. Brampton, batting first, made 207-5 in their 20 overs.

Afridi found support in West Indian Lendl Simmons, who made 59 off 34 balls after hitting five fours and five maximums.

In response, Edmonton managed 180-9 in their 20 overs. New Zealand star Jimmy Neesham top-scored with 33 while Richie Berrington and skipper Faf du Plessis scored 28 and 21 runs.
Zahoor Khan and Ish Sodhi took three wickets each while Pakistan pacer, Wahab Riaz bagged two wickets for the side.

A total of six teams are featuring to earning top honors in the Global T20 League Canada Season II among which, total six Pakistani cricketers are seen in action in different teams. Former Pakistan all-rounder, Shahid Afridi is representing Brampton Wolves along with left-arm pacer, Wahab Riaz. 

Spin duo of Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz is a part of the Edmonton Royals squad. Meanwhile, veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik is turn up for Vancouver Knights who have retained Chris Gayle and Andre Russell in their squad.

Hard-hitting batsman, Umar Akmal is also being a part of this league, playing for Winnipeg Hawks. Toronto Nationals and Montreal Tigers are the other two franchises in the tournament.
