Pakistan thrashes Bangladesh 17-0 to sweep their way into XIV West Asia Baseball Cup semis

Pakistan Baseball Team outscored Bangladesh by 17-0 score line, storming their way into the semi-final stage of the West Asia Baseball Cup 2019 at Japan Friendship Baseball Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

 
Pakistan’s Baseball Team was up against Bangladesh in their second group B encounter where the boys stormed their way into the semifinals of 14th West Asia Cup by completely crushing their opponents on the final score line of 17-0.   

The best performers from Pakistan’s side, in their second clash, proved to be UbaidUllah, Muhammad Abdullah, Muhammad Ameen, Arsalan, Asad, Saddiq Afridi and Faisal, who each scored two runs to earn their team a further place into this mega international event.

With Pakistan’s booking a spot into the semifinals, the team will have to face arch-rivals India in the first semi-final game while the hosts and defending champions Sri Lanka will be taking on Iran in the second semi-final encounter.

Federation of Pakistan Baseball President, Syed Fakhar Ali Shah said,
”The way players are displaying world class baseball on offer they are in irresistible form and if they continue to play same way, Pakistan will win the semi-final against arch-rivals India as well.”
He also congratulated the Pakistan Baseball Team and especially thanked IPC Minister,DrFahmidaMirza for her presence during the departure of the team and also thanked DG PSB,Arif Ibrahim, Director Hostelsmm Malik ImtiazHussain and Director Media ShaziaEjaz for their support during the month-long camp at Pakistan Sports Board.
