Pakistan advance in junior Davis Cup

Pakistan beat Lebanon 2-1 in the round robin competition of junior Davis Cup pre-qualifying round competition underway at Colombo’s SLTA clay courts.

According to the information made available here, Sahibzada Mohammad Ali took the lead beating Tabit Roy of Lebanon 7-5, 2-6, 6-1.

Pakistan’s Mohammad Shoaib Khan sealed victory thrashing Berbarian Kary 6-1, 6-2.

However, in a dead rubber encounter, Pakistan pair lost to Lebanese counterparts 4-6, 6-3, 6-10 after a tough battle.

Earlier on Saturday, Pakistan defeated Cambodia 3-0.

With two wins, Pakistan has qualified for the semi-finals of the next stage.
