Two-time beach wrestling world champion, Inam Butt secures silver medal in Beach Wrestling World Series 2019

Due to one referee's decision against him, thwart Pakistan's eminent wrestler, Muhammad Inam to win gold for the country in Beach Wrestling World Series 2019 in Rio de Janeiro, Bazil.

One of the main hopes of Pakistan for 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Muhammad Inam Butt, pocketed silver medal in 90 KG weight category at the Rio de Janeiro Beach Wrestling World Series 2019, as he lost to Dato Marsagishvilm, from Georgia by 2-0 in the final match.

Inam qualified for the final of Series, by beating Greek wrestler, Grigorios Kriaridis on a superb lead of 3-0, by VSU, in the semifinal bout and he was good with his performance throughout the tournament as he managed his winning strike but was unable to keep the record straight in the final. 

Initially, when Inam defended his world Beach title in Turkey, it was discovered that he would be the direct qualifier for the World Beach Games. But the United World Wrestling made some modification in the rules and introduced four qualifying rounds. In those four qualifying rounds, Inam had to battled with the top-notch wrestlers from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Greece and Georgia, in which he continue to prove his mettle in the first three rounds but lost his final fight to settle for a silver medal.

Inam was up against Murat Ozkan from Turkey in Pre-Quarter-Finals where he won over him dominating the fight by a lead of 3-0, then he claimed the second win over European medalist from Azerbaijan, Kanan Aliyev by a lead of 1-0.  Later yesterday, he had his third fight of the quarter-final stage with Brazil's Wanderson Messias Da Silva Lima in which he crushed his opponent by 4-0 but what seemed to bring him gold medal by winning his fourth and last bout, he could not take it to the end and lost to Dato Marsagishvilm, from Georgia by 2-0 in the final match. 

The Gujranwala born wrestler, claims that due to one referee's decision against him, he was thwart to win gold for the country.

But the 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medalist Pakistani wrestler seems satisfied with his performance as to this achievement, he said,

"Alhamdulillah Thanks to Allah Almighty without his help I can't achieve anything. Gold medal was coming all the way but sadly one wrong decision of a referee made it to Silver but I'm satisfied with my performances and I love the satisfaction you people show with your love and support," 

And he also dedicated his achievement to his Mother on the occasion of Mother's Day, which is being observed today, by saying:

"This on is for my Ammi Jan, Happy Mother's Day!"
