AJK, KP, WAPDA & PAF wins National Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship 2019 openers

AJK, KP, WAPDA & PAF defeated their respective opponents and registered their first wins in the National Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship 2019 openers being played at Nishtar Park Sports Complex in Lahore.

 
The very first game into the championship was played between, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) teams in which Gilgit-Baltistan boys completely dominated the game and finished the match in a one sided encounter by 3-1 score line. It took almost 70 minutes for GB to win the match.

GB boys started the match on a high pace and won the first set by a close margin of 27-25 but lost the second set to the opponents by also on a close call of 37-35. But Gilgit-Baltistan players were determine to take home the victory of their first game and finally took the win of the set by 25-23 to make it 2-1. The fourth set proved almost one-sided as GB comfortably claimed it 25-16 and marked their first win. 

While in the second clash, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team out scored the Islamabad team by 25-22, 25-17, 25-20 sets and the third encounter of the day was won by WAPDA team as the team won their first match against Pakistan Railways on 25-16, 25-17 and 25-12. Fourth game win went to Pakistan Air Force (PAF) as the team convincingly clinched the win over Sindh team by 25-10, 25-9 and 25-15 sets.

President (R )Lt. General Syed Arif Hasan, Pakistan Olympic Association was the honorable chief guest who graced the championship open, along with Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) Chairman, Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob. 

As many as 14 teams are competing in this week long championship, that belong to different departments and provinces of the country. Players from their respective teams are seen in action, competing against each other so as to earn the ultimate title of the championship.
