Five foreign players withdraw from ATF-Pakistan 14 and under championship

Five international junior tennis players withdrew their names from the first ATF-Pakistan 14 and under Super Series Tennis Championships.

Five international junior tennis players withdrew their names from the first ATF-Pakistan 14 and under Super Series Tennis Championships.

The withdrawal deadline was Tuesday.

Sina Salimi and Mahdi Behboodi from Iran, Chun Lam and Tin Chi Kobe Wong from Hong Kong, and Nelaka Dissanayake from Sri Lanka withdrew from the championship to be held in Islamabad from March 7-13.

Now, Yanishkhe Cooray from Sri Lanka, Yu Ching Tiger Cheung from Hong Kong, and Muhammad Said from England are the only foreign players in this event.

Pakistan’s Huzaifa Abdul Rehman and Hamza Bin Rehan are first and second seeds, respectively.

However, there was no withdrawal from the girls’ event. There are four foreign players in the main draw. Angela Wingshan Sou from Hong Kong and Maitree Diksha Rout from India are first and second seeds, respectively.

The size of the main draw for boys is 32, including six reserved for wildcards and eight reserved for qualification winners.

There will be singles and doubles events for boys as well as girls.

It is worth adding here that the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) has allotted Pakistan two 14 and under international events to be held in Islamabad from March 7-20 at the clay courts of PTF Tennis Complex.

Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) will provide accommodation to all main draw outstation players and three meals to top-eight ranked out station players. The foreign participants will stay at PSB Hostel, Islamabad.
