M. Inam wins Gold in Beach World Championships 2018 at Sarigerme, Turkey

Inam's defeated Irakli MTSITURI of Georgia in the final with a 3-1 Victory by Fall (VFA). This is Inam's second consecutive gold at the championships.

Inam proved his dominance in 90kg Seniors category of the Championship when he won the Gold for second time in a row. Inam won Pakistan's first Gold in the Championship in 2017 in Dalyan Turkey (Read More about 2017 win here).

It took Inam only a minute to wrap up the fight as he claimed the Gold with a 4-1 "Victory by Fall". Inam entered the ring with an aggressive attitude and gave away an easy point in the hustle at the beginning with a ground touch. Over 150 wrestlers from 16 nations participated for a world title in cadet, junior and senior divisions, men and women of  Beach World Championships.

Inam remained undefeated throughout the championship as he made way to the top position on the victory stand. He comprehensively won all his group matches with a Victory by Fall (VFA) as follows:

  • First victory against Bo Andre BERGAN of Norway by 3-0
  • Second victory against Adao Rafael ANDRADE DA SILVA of Portugal by 3-0
  • Third victory against Mihai Nicolae PALAGHIA of Romania by 5-0


In the Quarter Final, Inam was up against Viktor SOLOVIOV of Ukraine. Watch the match here as Inam made his way to the semifinal with a 3-1 victory.

It took Inam only 28 seconds in the semifinal against Grigorios KRIARIDIS of Greece to down him with a 3-0 Victory by Fall.

Earlier in the Year, Mohammad Inam won Pakistan's only Gold medal in men’s freestyle 86kg event at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

4 member squad of Pakistan participated in the championship in the following weight categories:

  1. Muhammad Inam Butt    90 kg
  2. Ghulam Guaz                   70 kg
  3. Asad Butt                         80 kg
  4. Tayyab Raza                    90+ kg

The event also serves as a qualifying event for the 2019 Beach Games held in San Diego, California (USA).
