Pakistan Army and PAF through to the Quarter Final

Pakistan Army thrashed Karachi United and Pakistan Air Force defeated Pakistan Railway to secure their position in the quarter final.

Pakistan Army thrashed Karachi United by 2-0 to make their way to the quarter final of the PFF cup on Thursday. Pakistan Air Force defeated Pakistan Railway 2-1 in a close fought match. KPT kept themselves in contention with a 3-1 victory over Saif Textile. 

Top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the quarter finals of the tournament. KPT and United will fight for the next round. 

At Raiders football ground Lahore Army were shown four yellow cards as Islamabad United fought hard against the tough side. Army got the lead just in the 3rd minute when Najeeb-ur-Rehman scored a beautiful goal. After 1-0 Karachi United played brilliantly and their defense line denied attempts from Army. As the 73rd minuted approached Ansar Abbas scored another goal for Army to diminish hopes for United to come back. At the full time the score remained 2-0 in favor of Army.

Karachi United now will play against Saif Tex and a good margin win will make them play in the quarter final. 

In the PAF match, Mansoor Khan scored a stunner from a direct free kick to give them lead and then again Mohammad Sohail Jr. scored another assisted by Irfan Ali. Pakistan Railways reduced the arrears six minutes into the second half through Wajid Ali. At the half time the match ended 2-1 in favor of PAF. 

Now a match between Pakistan Railways and Faisalabad's side will decide which team will go through the quarter final stage.
