Muhammad Nooh Dastgir gearing up for 2018 IWF Junior World Championship

Pakistan’s star weightlifter Muhammad Nooh Dastgir Butt is preparing himself for +105 weight category of the upcoming 2018 IWF Junior World Championship schedule to be held from 06-14 July at Uzbekistan Sport Complex, Tashkent city Uzbekistan.

The Uzbekistan weightlifting Federation is organizing the 2018 IWF Junior World Championship under the supervision of International weightlifting Federation from 06-14 July at Uzbekistan Sport Complex, Tashkent city Uzbekistan. 

Pakistan’s weightlifter Muhammad Nooh Dastgir Butt will participate in the +105 weight category while the +105 weight category competitions will be on 14th July.

Seventeen years old weightlifter Muhammad Nooh Dastgir Butt hails from Gujranwala where he works at GEPCO WAPDA (Electric Power Company). Muhammad Nooh Dastgir Butt won the bronze medal in the +105kg weightlifting category in Commonwealth Games 2018. Nooh won a gold medal in junior category competition of Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship last year, and bagged silver in the senior events of the same category by lifting 389kg. He has also won a bronze medal in Commonwealth championships at Penang, Malaysia in 2016, and in Pune, India in 2015.

For the winners of 2018 IWF Junior World Championship Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the first three athletes in the Snatch, the Clean & Jerk and the Total in each bodyweight category. Trophies will be awarded to the best six teams in Total respectively for both men's and women's competitions in accordance with the IWF Team Classification. Best Lifter trophies will be awarded in both men's and women's events
