Abdul Wahab wins 65 kg freestyle wrestling 1/8 Final in Gold Coast

Pakistani wrestler Abdul Wahab outplayed Adam Vella of Malta in the 1/8 position match of Men’s freestyle 57kg wrestling competition by 4-1in XXI Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, Australia.

Pakistan’s promising young wrestler Abdul Wahab overpowered Adam Vella of Malta by 4-1 to win the 65 kg freestyle wrestling 1/8 position Final at the XXI Commonwealth Games being staged at the Carrara Spots Arena. 

In the first round, twenty-four years old Wahab fought hard against his Malta opponent and displayed superior acrobatic skills in the bout to win 10-2.The pehalwan from Gujranwala provided the Englishman from Malta no opportunity to score any point as he left the mat at end of round 2 with 2-0 points.

Abdul Wahab had won Bronze medals in the Men's Freestyle 61 kg and Men's Greco-Roman 66 kg category in Commonwealth Wrestling Championships held in 2016, Singapore.
