Nighat stands first in National Archery Championship

National archer Nighat Khan from Wapda took lead in the National Archery Championship women’s category with her stunning 519 points.

Nighat Khan proved herself the leading archer of ongoing National Archery Championship by showing an excellent performance with her remarkable 519 points with five 10-pointer, nine times 8-pointer, four 8-pointer and 12 times 7-pointer. She just lost her determination in the first and second round, otherwise, she staged a comeback and made a good show and recover against fellow archers.   

Sumbal Zubair of Pakistan Army was struggling at the second place with her incredible 500 points including seven times 10-pointer, eight times 9 pointers and seven times 8-pointer. Sumbal Zubair played well but she was struggling behind the day lead Nighat of Pakistan Wapda.

The International archer Umma Zahra of Pakistan Army with her total points of 497 remained at third with six times 10 pointers, seven times 9 pointers and 7 times 8 pointer with 11 times 5-pointer.

Aqsa of Pakistan Wapda secured fourth position with her 462 points including five times 10-pointer, eight times 9-pointer, five times 8-pointer and seven times 6-pointers.

Sadaf of Wapda with her 436 points got fifth position with seven times 10-pointer, eight times 9-pointer and eight times 7-pointer.

All the archers are getting ready for the final round on Wednesday with both Pakistan Wapda and Pakistan Army along with Punjab and Higher Education Commission are struggling hard to take top position in the Championship. Pakistan Wapda is defending the Team Championship.

President Pakistan Archery Federation Lt. Gen (Retd) Syed Arif Hassan will grace the occasion as chief guest on the prize distribution ceremony at 3.00 PM.
