PAK wrestlers to participate in Commonwealth Senior Wrestling Championship

Nine Pakistani wrestlers will be seen in action in Commonwealth Senior Wrestling Championships to be held in South Africa from December 15 to 17.

Wrestlers from 10 to 12 countries will participate in upcoming Commonwealth Senior Wrestling Championship and Pakistani 12 member contingent including 9 wrestlers already left for South Africa to participate in the event.

Pakistani team will participate in both freestyle & Greco-Roman. All Pakistani grapplers except that the 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medalist Mohammad Inam to be seen in Greco-Roman style besides taking part in freestyle competition. Inam, who recently earned gold in the World Beach Championship in Turkey, will play in 92kg category in South Africa.
Pakistani wrestlers also have in their mind the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games will be held next year. Palembang and Jakarta (Indonesia) will host the Asian games from August 18 to September 2, 2018.

Sajawal (79kg) is not going with the squad as his passport could not be made in time. Three officials will also accompany the team are Muhammad Raiz (Coach), Khalid Butt (Refree) and Faiz ul Haq (Manager).
