Pakistani female powerlifters clean sweeps Oceania Pacific Powerlifting Championship
Pakistani female power-lifters Saniha Ghafoor, Twinkle Sohail and Sybil Sohail bagged golds in their respective categories during the Oceania Pacific Power-lifting Championship in Singapore.
Saniha, Twinke and Sybil won 4 gold models each during the championship. Saniha Ghafoor won 4 golds in 57kg category and lifted overall weight of 280kg. 115kg during squat, 55kg during bench press and 110kg during deadlift. Saniha and Twinkle have secured four gold medals each in 57kg category and 72kg category.
The event was held in Park Avenue Convention Centre in Singapore. Other Pakistani power-lifters competing in the event were Rabbia Razzaq (84kg), Muhammad Ahmad Khan (105kg), Syed Nadeem Hashmi (105kg), Mahmood Heera (120kg) and manager Mohammad Rashed Mallik. It is to be mention here that in 2015, Twinkle Sohail won a gold medal in the Asian Bench-Press Power-lifting Championship, which was held in Muscat, Oman.
