14th Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship
Pakistan Taekwondo Federation with the kind support of Omar Associates, AF Powertek Engineering FZC, Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Ltd, NLC and Korean Embassy, Islamabad successfully organized the 14th edition of Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship from 19 to 23 December, 2019 at Amir Khan Boxing Hall, Pakistan Sports Board, Islamabad.
The said event had competitions in both male and female categories, where the fighters competed against each other in a total of 8 different weight classes which are stated below:
Men's Division: Under 58 KG, Under 68 KG, Under 80 KG and Over 80 KG.
Women's Division: Under 49 KG, Under 57 KG, Under 68 KG and Over 68 KG.
While the Senior Poomsae competitions were contested under the following weight categories:

The registration fee for each athlete was Rs. 500/- only and the valid National Global License was mandatory for the participation and fee of said license was US 5 Dollars per athlete. The competitions were fought under WT Competition Rules while the method for the competitions was: Single Elimination System.

This mega event witnessed participation of total 13 teams which included: Pakistan Army, Navy, Air Force, WAPDA, Railways, Police, Higher Education Commission , Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab and Gilgit Baltistan.
Among these several talented participating teams, Army dominated the championship by collecting 16 gold, 07 silver and 06 bronze medals, accumulating a total of 580 points to be crowned the champions. The winners were followed on the runner up spot by WAPDA athletes, who amassed 345 points with earning 03 gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze medals. Pakistan Air Force gained a total of 206 points to settle for the third position with having 02 gold, 04 silver and 10 bronze medals into their tally.
Shahzaib from Pakistan Air Force has been declared BEST ATHLETE of the event and was awarded with Rs 50,000/- worth of cash prize by PTF. Mst Shamim Akhtar. President PTF Women Wing also awarded Rs. 20,000/- to Haroon and Shahzaib on their outstanding performance throughout the championship.
