ICC Delegation Meets PCB Chairman, Inspects Venues for CT 25

The International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation currently visiting Pakistan to assess venues and facilities for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 met with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday.

Pakistan secured the hosting rights agreement for the tournament in December, marking a significant milestone for cricket in the country. There were initial uncertainties regarding Pakistan's hosting after India influenced the PCB to host most of the matches of the September Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will mark the first major global cricket tournament held in Pakistan since 1996 when it co-hosted the Men’s Cricket World Cup with India and Sri Lanka.

During the meeting, discussions centred on the preparations and successful execution of the event next year. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed his delight at the prospect of hosting the prestigious tournament, assuring top-notch facilities for players and fans across the country.

Naqvi announced plans to upgrade three major cricket venues in Pakistan ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, emphasizing the board's commitment to ensuring a successful and memorable tournament.

The ICC delegation, led by Head of Events Chris Tetley, included Sarah Edgar, Senior Manager of Event Operations, and Aun Zaidi, Manager of Event Operations. Also present were PCB COO Salman Naseer, Director of International Cricket Usman Wahla, and other PCB officials.
