Wasim Akram stopped by security in Perth Test

The security personnel couldn’t recognize the left-arm pacer.

Wasim Akram has a strong connection with Australia, having played a big role in Pakistan’s only ODI World Cup triumph over in 1992. His wife Shaniera Akram also hails from Australia and he keeps visiting the place. However, security personnel couldn’t recognize a cricketer with more than 900 international wickets during the ongoing Test between Pakistan and Australia in Perth.

Wasim Akram was stopped twice by security to have his accreditation checked while commentating for Fox Cricket.

“He said, ‘Show me your accreditation’, and I did,” Akram told Fox Cricket.

“He said, ‘No show it again, I didn’t see your picture.’ So I said, ‘Here we go again buddy’.”

Michael Vaughan, who is also a part of the commentary panel for the ongoing series, asked: “So you’re just going to wear your card all day now?”
