Karachi Friends Veterans CC qualify for Virtual Axis Ramazan Festival T20 Night Cricket Tournament 2021 final

The Virtual Axis Ramazan Festival T20 Night Cricket Tournament 2021 moved into final stage as the Karachi Friends Veterans CC overpowered tournament favourites AO Veterans by 8 wickets to book berth in the final.

Former Test leg spinner Danish Kaneria secured top three scalps for just 12 runs to receive man of the match award.

In the first semifinal, AO veterans were put into bat by Karachi Friends Veterans CC and restricted them to a modest 129-7 in 20 overs. Test leg spinner Danish Kaneria bagged three wickets for just 12 runs in his four overs with one maiden to break the back of AO Veterans. Iftikhar Ali was top run getter for AO Veterans with 39 while Irfan Faizan (36) & Shah Faisal (21) were the other prominent batsmen.

 In reply, Karachi Friends’ beginning was not impressive as they lost two wickets for 59 runs, however, unbeaten 70-run partnership between MPA Abbas Jaffery (33*) and Mohammad Irfan (61*) propelled their team to victory. Kaneria was declared man of the match.

Former KCCA Joint Secretary Jameel Ahmed graced the ceremony as chief guest. Axis Cricket Club President Khwaja Ahmed Mustaqeem presented the memento to Jameel Ahmed.
