BISL International Squash C’ship 2020: World no.44 Tayyab Aslam wins PSA title on home soil

The PSA Challenger Tour wrapped up successfully in Pakistan, with the BISL International Squash Championship held both a men’s and women’s event at the Quetta Club.

 

The PSA Challenger Tour wrapped up successfully in Pakistan, with the BISL International Squash Championship held both a men’s and women’s event at the Quetta Club.

Top seeded Tayyab Aslam and Amna Fayyaz became the champions of BISL International Squash Championship in men and women event respectively.

With this win Tayyab has clinched the 9th PSA title of his vocation.

World no.44 Tayyab Aslam made his PSA World Tour bow in 2011 and broke into the world’s top 50 in the summer of 2019.

Tayyab, who emerged as gold medal winner in 13th SAG 2019 men’s singles, played well against second seed Asim Khan and despite losing the second game at 8-11, top seed Tayyab staged a strong comeback and raced up to an emphatic victory by winning two consecutive games 11-3, 11-7.

The scores read as 11-2, 8-11, 11-3, 11-7.

World no. 95 Amna Fayyaz thrashed Faiza Zafar to win the women's event title with the final score line of 11-9, 11-8, 11-8.
