Former Pakistan no.1 Nasir Iqbal wins another PSA title

Nasir Iqbal added another feather in his cap when he overcame emerging Noor Zaman in the Meraj Ltd. Sindh Open Squash Circuit-II at Sindh Rangers Squash Complex, Karachi.

 
South Asian and Asian Team Championship 2016 gold medalist, Nasir Iqbal added another feather in his cap when he overcame emerging Noor Zaman in the Meraj Ltd. Sindh Open Squash Circuit-II at Sindh Rangers Squash Complex, Karachi.

In the final of men’s category, former world number 35 Nasir thrashed Noor Zaman 11-4, 11-4, 11-5 in just 19 minutes to claim the title of this $1500 PSA Satellite Tour.

Earlier, in the semi-finals, Nasir smashed Amaad Fareed 11-2, 11-3, 11-5 in 18 minutes and Noor beat Zahir Shah 6-11, 11-4, 8-11, 11-4, 11-8 in 33 minutes.

This was Nasir’s second PSA title in this series of five international satellite events being organised in Karachi from March 3-16.

In the Women’s final, both Zafar sister played classic game but Madina Zafar had no mercy for sister Faiza Zafar, who recently won Sindh Open Squash Circuit-I, and beat her in a tough fight with the score of 11-7, 9-11, 11-7, 11-8 in 22 minutes.

After the finals chief guest Hummayo Khan distributed prizes among the winners.
