Mahoor Shahzad makes history with top-140 ranking

Treasured national badminton champion, Mahoor Shahzad made history as she became the Pakistan's first female badminton player to break into the top 140 in world rankings.

Treasured national badminton champion, Mahoor Shahzad made history as she became the Pakistan's first female badminton player to break into the top 140 in world rankings.

The 23-year-old from Karachi is currently ranked world number 138 in the singles rankings.

Mahoor alongside Palwasha Bashir won silver medal in Kenya International badminton Series 2020, that helped improve his international ranking to world number 138 from 149.

Mahoor Shahzad said:

“I have achieved my career best ranking of 138 in the world. Not only is this a personal best, but a moment of pride for our country as this is the first time a Pakistani female badminton player is part of the Top 140.”
