Army starts National Netball Championship defense with dominant wins
Pakistan Army's men's and women netball teams started their titles defenses in dominant fashion as 19th National Netball Championship began at Hamidi Hall of Pakistan Sports Complex.
Defending champions of National Netball Championship, Army, were off to a flying start on the opening day of 19th edition of National Men and Women Netball Championship started at Pakistan Sports Complex on Thursday.
The reigning champion of both men and women categories first took down KPK with huge margin of 55-6 in the men's event while also hammering AJK 32-0 in the women's event.
On the opening day, 13 matches were held.
In the men's event WAPDA beat Fata by 48-12 goals while Navy got the better of Balochistan by 2-0 goals. Sindh beat AJK by 42-10 goals.
On the women's side, Sindh hammered FATA by 40-0 while Pakistan WAPDA outscored LUMS by 43-0 goals. Meanwhile in the days last game, team Elite beat KPK by 6-2 goals.
Federal Secretary Information Technology Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the 4-day event.
President Pakistan Netball Federation (NBF) Mudassar Arain, Senior Vice President Malik Sameen Khan, Secretary General, Syed Gohar Raza, Dy. Director General Pakistan Sports Board Mansoor Ahmed and a large number of players, officials and netball lovers attended the opening ceremony.
