Parachuter outruns Maradona to lift Jubilant Cup at KRC

Bay horse Para­chuter beat the fancied dark bay horse Maradona to land the Jubilant Cup in the winter Gym­khana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse. 

Parachuter, owned by Hassan Khan and sent by trainer Ghulam Shabbir II, powered to three-quarter-of-a-length victory under champion rider Mohammad Manzoor to make it two wins on the trot.

Bay horse Mohallaydar finished third with Lahori Sayeen completing the frame among five competitors.

Another long shot bay horse Piyara Faisal pulled off a surprise by getting the better of seven-year-old chestnut horse Faster Than You by two lengths to clinch the next race as favourite Sharp Shooter had to be content with third place ahead of Zorawar.

At the outset, running under new name and also under new owner Hawwaam, formerly Pin Point, defeated co-favourite Fast Catcher by two-and-a-half lengths to pick up spoils in the opening race. 

Sana Choice and Tehzeeb occupied third and fourth places respectively on board.
