Pakistan's last hope Hamza Khan storms into British Open 2020 under-15 final

Promising youngster Hamza Khan took just 19 minutes to advance into the under-15 final of the British Junior Squash Open at Birmingham, England.

 
Peshawar-born Hamza Khan advanced into the under-15 final of the British Junior Squash Open at Birmingham, England.

The promising youngster took just 19 minutes to eliminate his opponent Yassin Shohday of Egypt in straight games during the one-sided semi-final, with a scoreline of 11-5, 11-8, 11-7.

Today, Hamza will meet fifth seed Yusuf Sheikh of England, who earlier beat Ammad in the semi-final.

The bad news for Pakistan, however, was the defeat of Mohammad Ammad in the under-15 semi-final. Ammad was outclassed by England's Yousuf Sheikh 11-9,11-6,11-7.

Noor lost in just 14 minutes to England’s Sam Todd with the scores being 11-6, 11-1 and 11-1 in the last-four stage of under-17 category.

Earlier, in the under-13 quarter-finals, Abdullah Nawaz was beaten by second seed Yousuf Salem of Egypt 8-11, 9-11, 6-11. Abdullah will now face Hamdy Ehab of Egypt for 5th position.

Meanwhile, Haris Qasim lost to second seed Yahya Elnawasany of Egypt 8-11, 11-13, 6-11 in the pre-quarter-finals of under-19 category.
