Hareem Anwar, Maria Tazeem to lock horns in Islamia Club Ranking Table Tennis Tournament final
Hareem Anwar is up against the third seed Maria Tazeem in the women’s singles final of Islamia Club Ranking Table Tennis Tournament at the club premises, Karachi.
The stage is now set for the finals of Islamia Club Ranking Table Tennis Tournament at the club premises Karachi where top seed Hareem Anwar is drawn against third seed Maria Tazeem in the women’s singles final.
Hareem whipped unseeded Hoor Fawad with the final score line of 11-6, 9-11, 12-10, 12-10 in the women's singles first semi-final while Maria stunned second seed Atiqa Khan 11-1, 11-9, 10-12, 11-6. Maria is on course for a double crown having already clinched the girls U-18 title.
Meanwhile in third position playoff, Hoor Fawad trounced Atiqa Khan with the final score line of 11-5, 11-7, 11-7.
The pair of unseeded Noman Zara and Aahil Shah face each other in the men’s singles final after they triumphed over unseeded Saim Adnan and Arsalan Alvi respectively.
Noman was home 11-1, 11-8, 5-11, 11-9, 11-7 while Aahil was stretched to limits before winning 14-12, 10-12, 11-8, 3-11, 11-9, 6-11, 11-7.
Top seed Atta Abbas, second seed Hussain Virani and fourth seed Khawar Mahmood made their exit in the quarter-finals while third seed Farhan Hashim went down in the pre-quarters.
The prize distribution ceremony of Premier Cables (PVt) Limited Islamia Ranking Table Tennis Tournament is schedule to be held today (2nd Dec) at 6:00 p.m at Islamia Club Soldier Bazaar Karachi.
