Pakistan crush Bangladesh 3-0 to reach Volleyball final of 13th South Asian Games

Pakistan's Volleyball team defeated Bangladesh handily by 3-0 in the 2nd semi-final of the 2019 South Asian Games which are being held in Nepal.

 

After defeating Sri-Lanka 2-1, Pakistan volleyball team chalked up another win this time against Bangladesh in the semifinal of the volleyball event. Pakistan sealed the win in three straight sets to book a spot in the final and confirm a medal for the country in the event. 

Pakistan Men's Volleyball team defeated Bangladesh team 3-0 with scores of 25-15, 25-21 and 26-24.

After winning the first set convincingly, Pakistan's coach tried young players in the next two sets considering that they shall be able to pull it through but in the process the team faced tough resistance from Bangladesh in the second and third sets, although Pakistan ultimately won the match. 

In the other semifinal, India managed to claim the spot in the final by beating Sri-Lanka by 3-1.



The final of the event will be played between the arch-rivals tomorrow at the same venue.

Pakistan team has the advantage of beating India in the last two contests between the sides which took place at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta as well as in the recently-held Asian Senior Men’s Championship in Tehran, Iran.
