Pakistan Men's Volleyball team set to take on Sri Lanka at 13th South Asian Games today

Pakistan will be competing against Sri Lanka today in their second group B match of Volleyball event at 13th South Asian Games which are being held in Kathmandu, Nepal.

 
After registering their first victory against Maldives in the opening game, Pakistan Men's Volleyball squad is now all set to take on Sri Lanka today in their second group B match at 02:15 PM (Pakistan Standard Time).

Earlier, the green shirts marked their first victory against Maldives by completely thrashing them 3-0. 

The 2019 South Asian Games, officially called the XIII South Asian Games, is a major multi-sport event which was originally slated to be held from 9 to 18 March 2019 in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal. However, the dates had been postponed and the event is now being held from 1–10 December.

However, the Volleyball event has already begun where both men and women Pakistani squads have been grouped in Pool B.

Pakistan Men's Volleyball squad comprises of top 16 players who are accompanied by two officials. Aimal Khan is leading the Pakistani volleyball team at the regional extravaganza.

Men's Squad: Abdullah, Mubashir Raza, Mohammad Idrees, Mohammad Kashif Naved, Murad, Abdul Zaheer, Fahad Raza, Nasir Ali, Usman Faryad Ali, Farooq Haider, Hamid Yazman, Mohammad Usman.

Officials: Kim Kyoung-Hoon (Head Coach), Mazhar Hussain (Assistant Coach), Sardar Mohammad Khan (Manager). 

Pakistan have so far won two Gold medals in the history of the South Asian Games in Volleyball, having done so in 1989 in Islamabad and 1993 in Dhaka. The Green-shirts have won six silvers and two bronze. In the last SAG held in India in 2016 Pakistan bagged the Bronze medal.
