Mahoor Shahzad moves into quarters of Bulgarian International tournament 2019

Top seeded Mahoor Shahzad overwhelmed non-seeded Aslihan Ayna of Turkey by 2-0 in the Bulgarian International tournament 2019 at Sofia, Bulgaria.

Pakistan’s top badminton player Mahoor Shahzad is representing Pakistan in the Bulgarian International tournament 2019 at Sofia, Bulgaria. 

Top seeded Mahoor Shahzad overwhelmed non-seeded Aslihan Ayna of Turkey by 2-0 with the final score line of 21-14, 21-8 in pre-quarterfinal round. Earlier, top seeded Mahoor got bye in the first round.

Now, Mahoor is up against Tanya Ivanova of Bulgarian in the quarterfinal of Bulgarian International tournament 2019.

“With deep sorrow I have to inform you all that I won’t be able to play the semifinals of ongoing National Ranking tournament as I am travelling to Sofia, Bulgaria for the Bulgarian International tournament 2019” Mahoor said.

“I requested PBF to change the dates of the tournament or to do 2 rounds per day so that I would have finished my matches till 2 October and would have left for Bulgaria on 3 October. But the federation was not able to accommodate my request” she added.
“Given the choice, my aim is way much bigger than winning this ranking tournament. I look forward to qualify for Olympics 2020 In sha Allah and make my country proud.” Mahoor concluded.
