Farhan, Noor, Haris sails through World Junior Squash C'ship Round-3

Pakistan’s promising juniors Farhan Hashmi, Noor Zaman, and Haris Qasim served up exciting displays as they earned slots in third round of World Juniors in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

 
Pakistan’s promising juniors Farhan Hashmi, Noor Zaman, and Haris Qasim served up exciting displays at the National Squash Center, Bukit Jalil as they earned slots in third round of World Juniors in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

Farhan was on song as he demolished Arnaav Sareen of India with the final score line of 6-11, 11-13, 11-9, 11-4, 11-6 in 66 minutes. It earned him a third round clash with 13/16 seeded Thomas Rosini of USA who overpowered his compatriot Myles McIntyre by 3-0 with the final score line of 11-9, 11-9, 11-8 in 42 minutes.  

Also cruising through Noor Zaman who had a really slow start but eventually recovered to took out David Maier of Liechtenstein with the final score line of 8-11, 4-11, 11-7, 11-5, 12-10 in 53 minutes battle. Unseeded Noor will have a tougher matchup in the third round as he goes up against 5/8 seeded Yehia Elnawasany of Egypt, who downed Adam Agan Bin Aziz of Maslaysia by 6-11,11-3, 11-6, 11-3 in 32 minutes.

13-16 seeded Haris Qasim started brilliantly and maintained his game plan superbly without breaking too much sweat to take a 11-3, 11-2, 11-1 win over Juan Jose Torres Lara of Columbia in just 20 minutes. Haris next opponent will be unseeded Ben Smith of England.

Meanwhile Hamza Khan blew a match-ball opportunity as he went down in five games to Dana Santry from the US with the final score line of 6-11, 4-11, 11-6, 11-7, 11-2 in 46 minutes. Veer Chotrani from India smashed unseeded Naveed Rehman 11-7, 11-9, 11-8 in just 31 minutes. Mostafa El Serty from Egypt thrashed Hamza Sharif 11-6, 14-12, 11-8 in 35 minutes.
