Pakistan to feature in Wav­erley International Schools Netball Championship 2019

Karachi Grammar School (KGS) will be representing Pakistan in the 2019 Wav­erley International Schools Netball Championship which is slated to be held from 2nd to 5th July at Melbourne in Australia.

 

Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) President, Mudassar Arain disclosed that Pakistan will be featuring in Wav­erley International Schools Netball Championship 2019 and it will be the team from the Middle Section of Karachi Grammar School (KGS) to represent Pakistan in this mega international event. 

As many as 13 school teams from various countries have lined-up to compete in this championship which includes: New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Jamaica, Thailand, England, Soma and the Aust­r­alian States - New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. 

This championship will have the following divisions:

Senior Girls Division – 15 Years and over
Junior Girls Division – 15 Years and under

All games will be of 4 x 7 minute quarters, 1 minute at ¼ and ¾ times and 2 minutes at ½ time.

The Karachi Grammar School (KGS) have also announced their squad that will be playing in this event and the team comprises of: Areesha Farhan, Emaan Zubair, Malaika Jafrani, Mariyam Abdul Qadir, Myra Tahir, Tia Aftab, Tooba Saad, Zahra Fauzil Azim, Zara Rizwan, Rifah Ali, Hamda Fatima Uqaili, Esha Sharjeel, Malaika Aman Khan, Myra Iman Bilal Khan, Saleena Ali Haleem, Raina Abid, Syed Zuariaz Sohail and Syeda Xehra Fatima Agha. 

Ernestine Lucas Bernard and Saima Ishaque will accompany the team as Manager and Assistant Manager, respectively while Yasir Jawaid will be leading this team as their coach.

The training and coaching camp in preparation for the event is currently in progress at KGS netball ground under the supervision of Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF).
