HEC Zone ‘G’ Inter-Varsity Volleyball Championship move to semi-final stage

IBA, Sir Syed University, Szabist and Aga Khan University teams won their respective matches so book their place in the semi-final games of HEC Zone ‘G’ Inter-Varsity Volleyball Championship which is being held at Government College of Physical Education in Karachi.

The HEC Zone ‘G’ Inter-varsity Volleyball Championship's semi-finals were decided as Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Sir Syed University, Szabist and Aga Khan University won their respective matches and booked their place in the semi-final stage of the championship.  

In the first match played into the quarter-final stage of the championship, IBA team was up against Hamdard University in which IBA came out to topple over Hamdard University and defeated them on 25-15 and 25-16 score line. While in the second quarter final encounter, the hosts Sir Syed University etched their name on the top by beating the Greenwich University on 25-15 and 25-8 of the final score. 

In the other two matches contested, Szabist team won by 25-19 and 25-18 against Habib University whereas Aga Khan University made their way into the semi-final game by crushing the Dow University of Health Sciences on 25-21 and 25-22 score line. 

Now the four (4) teams that qualified to play the semi finals are Sir Syed University, IBA, Szabist and Dow University. The first match will be played between Sir Syed University and IBA while the second semi final will witness a clash between Szabist and Dow University. 

This championship has been organized by Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology in collaboration with High Education Commission of Pakistan which is hosted by Pakistan Volleyball Federation. 

As many as 11 universities are taking part in this championship which includes: Aga Khan University, Iqra University, Habib University, IBM, IBA, Hamdard University, Szabist, PAF-KIET, Dow University, Greenwich University and SSUET.
