Pakistan Green beat Pakistan Red 8-6 in the first ever 'Baseball 5' match

The Baseball 5 exhibition match was played at Bahria Town, Lahore to introduce and promote the new format 'Baseball 5' in Pakistan.

As per the directions of World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB) has introduced a new style of Baseball in Pakistan known as Baseball 5.

Sh. Mazhar Ahmad, Secretary General PFB, told that the match was played between Pakistan Green and Pakistan Red for 5 Innings. Each team was consists of 5 players and 3 reserve players which makes it a total of 8 players in a team and these teams belonged to different schools which included: Government High School Maraka, Beaconshouse School Bahria, Allied School Depalpur and National Baseball Academy’s U-15 players. 

The first ever Baseball 5 match was played between Pakistan Green and Pakistan Red baseball teams in which the Greens won on a close call by 8-6 against the opponent team. For Pakistan Green, Syed Muhammad Shah and Jihad Ullah scored 2 runs each and Wahid, Aashir Azeem, Muhammad Awais and Muzamil Khalil contributed with their one 1 run each while for Pakistan Red, Noor Ul Ameen scored 2 runs, Zeeshan, Syed Mohib, Aziz ur Rehman and Muhammad Hussain contributed with one run each.  

Before the match, the honorable chief guest, Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, President Pakistan Federation Baseball, informed of the rules and regulations of Baseball 5 to the players and coaches. The Baseball 5 game can be played indoor or outdoor in a small area as compare to Baseball ground. Only Baseball 5 ball is required to play and he himself played in the last innings of the match for Pakistan Green.
