Army clinches National Clay Shooting Championship 2019 title

Army, Sindh and Navy secured first three spots on the final day of 2019 National Clay Shooting Championship which concluded successfully at Navy Shooting Ranges, Karsaz in Karachi.

Sindh Rifle Association organized the six-day National Clay Shooting Championship that successfully concluded yesterday at Navy Shooting Ranges in which Army toppled over other participating teams and claimed the first position while Sindh and Navy stands at second and third spots, respectively. 

On the last day of the championship, Army’s Major Aamir Iqbal grabbed gold medal in double trap event, while Army’s Col Farrukh and Col Fakhar Ul Islam won silver and bronze medals, respectively. 

In the trap event’s team category, Army team consisting of Fakhar, Farrukh, and Aamir, once again clinched gold medal with the final score of 303 points out of 375 points. The silver medal went to Sindh, who had Usman Sadiq, Shakil Ilyas, and Mohammad Bilal, with the score of 294 points out of 375 points.

Navy’s team managed to gather bronze medal with the score of 251 points out of 375 points. They had Commodore Shahzad Noor, Lieutenant Rehan, and Lieutenant Awais.

In the individual category of the event, Usman Chand from Punjab won gold medal while the second position with a silver medal went to Abubakar from Army and Abdul Sattar of Navy managed the third spot claiming bronze medal. Army won 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals in this event and Sindh claimed 1 gold and 2 silver medals. Whereas Navy clinched 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.
