Pakistan beat India 2-0 to win Silver in Inter-Community Table Tennis Tournament 2018

Pakistan Table tennis team thrashed India by 2-0 to win Silver in the team event while Awais Ahmed secured Silver in the Singles event in the 2nd Inter-Community Table Tennis Tournament 2018 at Qatar Table Tennis Training Centre in Doha.

Pakistan Table tennis team thrashed India by 2-0 to win Silver in the team event while Awais Ahmed secured Silver in the Singles event in the 2nd Inter-Community Table Tennis Tournament 2018 at Qatar Table Tennis Training Centre in Doha. 

In the Team event, Pakistan Table tennis team played marvelously as they overpowered India by 2-0 to secure the Runner-up spot while Lebanon seals the first spot of the Inter-Community Table Tennis Tournament 2018.

Earlier, Pakistan defeated Egypt by 2-1 in the team event.

In the singles event Awais Ahmed of Pakistan exhibited outstanding game skills to seals another Silver for country while Rock el Hakim of Lebanon won the first spot.

The communities from 22 countries including France, Egypt, Indonesia, India, Lebanon, Philippines, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand, South Korea, Ghana, Tunisia, Libya, Vietnam, Sudan, Iraq, Yemen, Sri Lanka, Poland and Qatar participated in the mega tournament.

This year the tournament featured boys and girls under 18 years of age, men between the ages of 18 and 40 years, men above 40 years and women above 18 years of age category.  

The tournament was also played for singles as well as for team championship in all the above categories among the various communities.

Indian Sports Centre (ISC) in collaboration with Qatar Table Tennis Association organized the 2nd Inter-Community Table Tennis Tournament in the Tennis Training Centre in Doha.

It was the first tournament in Qatar where more than 20 expatriate communities belonging from respective countries participated.

The tournament was organized to promote the game of Table Tennis among all the expatriates as well as to built a healthy sporting environment among various expatriate communities.
