Mahoor Shahzad advance into pre-quarterfinal of Dubai International Challenge 2018

Pakistan’s Badminton foremost player Mahoor Shahzad defeated Sadowski Fiorella Marie of Malta by 2-0 to move into pre-quarterfinal of Dubai International Challenge 2018 at NAS Sports Complex, Dubai.

Pakistan’s Badminton foremost player Mahoor Shahzad overpowered Sadowski Fiorella Marie of Malta in one sided affair as she didn’t allowed qualifier Sadowski to play freely and confirm her place in Women's Singles pre-quarterfinal by 2-0 in just 19 minutes at Dubai International Challenge 2018 at NAS Sports Complex, Dubai. 

In the first game, 21-year-old Mahoor made a confident start as she took the lead from beginning by scoring 5 consecutive opening points against Malta players and engaged her in long rallies and capitalized on soft opportunities as she maintained her lead by scoring 13 consecutive points at 18-1. Karachi born Mahoor comfortably positioned herself to won the first game at 21-3.

In the second game, Mahoor faced little bit of resistance against qualifier of Malta as he leveled the scored at 2-2 then Pakistan’s foremost player started playing aggressively and gave the opponent no opportunity to execute her game to seal the game and match by 21-9 in 19 minutes.

Now unseeded Mahoor Shahzad will face seventh seed Natalia Perminova of Russia in Women's Singles pre-quarterfinal.

Dubai International Challenge 2018 is a Grade 3 (Continental Circuit) International Badminton Tournament sanctioned by Badminton Asia and BWF and organized by UAE Badminton at the NAS Sports Complex, Dubai during the 14th to 18th of November 2018.
