Fata, Mardan, Hayatabad Seniors, Murad tigers win Aamir Ghaffar Badminton league opener

Aamir Ghaffar Badminton league is continue in full swing where Fata, Mardan, Hayatabad Seniors and Murad tigers win the opening day matches at Hayatabad sports complex Peshawar.

Aamir Ghaffar Badminton league is continue in full swing where Fata, Mardan, Hayatabad Seniors and Murad tigers win the opening day match at Hayatabad sports complex Peshawar. 

Pakistan’s National Badminton Champion Murad Ali inaugurated the 2-day mega event along Director of National Book Foundation and Chief organizer of the tournament Murad Ali Mehmand. The tournament is held on the visit of Former Pakistan Junior National Badminton Champion Aamir Ghaffar.

Aamir Ghaffar is two times England Men’s National Badminton Champion and reached world no. 21 at his peak and won Silver in 2006 Commonwealth Games.

On the first day, Fata thrashed Buner as they didn’t allow them to play freely to win the match by 3-0 while Mardan overpowered Peshawar in the thrilling encounter by 3-2.

Hayatabad Seniors crushed Swabi in the hard fought battle by 3-2 while Murad tigers played marvelously to beat Hangu by 3-0.

All 24 Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are participating in 2-days event. The league will be played on team event basis while every team will comprise of 5 players which include 2 departmental players and 3 non departmental players.

Bladder Club is organizing the Aamir Ghaffar Badminton league which is sponsored by Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Organizing committee is headed by Murad Ali Mohmand (Director National Book Foundation) Mr. Jaffer Shah (Administrator HSC) Mr. Riaz Khan , Asad Ghaffar , Syed Shahzad and Ibrahim Khan.

The winning teams will be awarded by handsome cash prizes of Rs. 50,000. Shahid Ullah Khan ,I.G Prison Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will grace the opening ceremony as chief guest. The mega event is financed by Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
