Army dominates second day of 13th Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo C’ship

Fighters belonging to Army won gold medals in each category competitions contested on the second day of 13th Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship which is being held at Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Board in Islamabad.

 

Army maintained their supremacy by claiming 15 gold medals in the Senior Poomsae Competition making a total of 231 points whereas WAPDA stands at second spot with 5 sliver and 8 bronze medals making it a total of 90 points, followed by HEC with 4 silver and 6 bronze medals in various contest of Poomsae events witj 72 points in total. Whereas, Air Force managed to stand at the 4th spot with 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.

The first three star players who led Army towards the victory on the second day are Waseem Javed, Shahbaz Ahmed and Ghulam Abbas who once again won golds in Individual Male Poomsae 20, -30 and -40 categories respectively.

The lone gold medal for Air Force was clinched by Shahzad Ali, who won in the Creative Poomsea Individual Event.

Following are the first three Silver medal winners for WAPDA:
1. Hashim (Individual Male Poomsae -20)
2. Rajaz Ayub (Individual Male Poomsae -30)
3. Umair Saleem (Individual Male Poomsae -40)

Following are the first three Bronze medal winners for HEC:
1. Inam (Individual Male Poomsae -20)
2. Muhammad Anas (Individual Male Poomsae -30)
3. Anamta and Anas (Pair Male Poomsae Mix) 

Pakistan Taekwondo Federation has organized the 13th edition of Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship which is to be continued till 8th of November. This mega event is featuring 1400 athletes and officials from all over Pakistan.

Chief Guest on the second day was Andre-de-Bussy, Head of Mission France Embassy, Islamabad and Guest of Honor Malik Mehrban Ali Awan, Chairman Pakistan Futsal Federation & President Pakistan Indoor Field Hockey, Ex-Adviser PM Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
