Fahad Khawjah triumph the National Bank Inter Zonal KPK Table Tennis Championship

The International table tennis player Fahad Khawjah and Iqra Khan claimed the Men and Women singles title respectively in the 11th NBP Inter-Divisional Table Tennis Championship played here at Qayyum sports Complex, Peshawar. 

In the Men’s singles final encounter, Fahad Khawjah, who also represented Pakistan in the last Commonwealth Games, defeated Shad Khan by 3-1 with the final score line of 11-6, 7-11, 11-9 and 11-8. While in the first semi-final, Fahad Khawjah, hailing from Chitral, defeated Basit of Swat in straight sets, the score was 11-5, 11-8 and 11-5 and in the second semi-final Shad Khan beat Sharjeel by 3-1.

In the team event Fahad Khawjah, Shayan & Waqas overpowered Basit, Shad Khan & Umar in straight sets and marched into victory.

In the women individual singles Iqra Khan outplayed Nimra by 3-2 with the final score line of 12-10, 5-11, 9-11, 12-10 and 11-8.Iqra beat Kainat by 3-0, the score was 11-7, 11-8 and 11-9 and Nimra beat Saira by 3-1, the score was 11-8, 9-11, 11-8 and 11-9.

Regional Chief NBP Sohail Khan graced the ceremony as chief guest on this occasion. At the end, the chief guest Sohail Khan gave away trophies and cash prizes to the position holders.

Director Operation Syed Saqlin Shah, Director Sports PSB Coaching Center Peshawar Mumtaz Ahmad Nadeem, international footballer Basit Kamal, Secretary KP Table Tennis Association, players, officials and spectators were also present on the occasion.
