Pakistan #2 Iqra Khan steer Frontier College to move into HEC Girls Table Tennis Championship semis

Frontier College for Women, Government Girls College Bacha Khan, City Girls College Gulbahar, Govt Girls College Dabgari in semifinals of Higher Education Department Girls Table Tennis Championship at Frontier College for Women Indoor Hall, Peshawar.

Frontier College for Women, Government Girls College Bacha Khan, City Girls College Gulbahar, Govt Girls College Dabgari took berth into the semi-finals of the Higher Education Department Girls Table Tennis Championship which got under way here at Frontier College for Women Indoor Hall, Peshawar. 

Vice Principal Miss Roshan Zuhra was the chief guest on this occaion. Director Sports FCW and Organizing Secretary Raham Bibi, Professor Gul Sanobar Jamshed, officials, players and large number of college spectators were also present and wintesed the matches.

International table tennis player and Pakistan No. 2 in national ranking Iqra Khan played a key role in steering Frontier College for Women in the semi-final. A total of 10 colleges affailited with Higher Education Department are taking part out of more than 100 colleges across Peshawar District.

The team of Bacha Khan also played well and recorded victories by entering into the semi-final. City Girls College Gulbahar and Government Girls College Dabgari also won their matches by reaching into the semi-finals. Players comprising Iqra, Nazo Bibi, Saman, Lubna, Shahida, Tahira, Irum, Aysha Batool, Anum, Mehvish, Sidra, Javeria, Shazia and Qurat Ul Ann played well and recorded victories against their respective rivals in the ongoing Table Tennis event.

Speaking on this occasion, Vice Principal Miss Roshan Zuhra thanked all the official and players for reposing confidence in Frontier College for Women to organizing various events un the aegis of Higher Education Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She assured the players that the sports departments would ensure all out facilities to the players during various sporting events.

She said Frontier College for Women and its management and Principal Azra Khurshid are very keen to have sports activities for the girls students. The sports, she said, is now an intigral part of the academic and that is why due importance have been given even at Higher Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa level.
